StellarEd was founded in 2020 by Dr. Elara Vance, a renowned astrophysicist with a passion for education. Inspired by the vastness and beauty of the cosmos, she envisioned a platform where anyone, regardless of their background, could explore the wonders of astronomy and astrophysics. Based in Seattle, Washington, a city known for its innovative spirit and appreciation for science, StellarEd began as a small online learning community, quickly growing into a leading provider of online astronomy courses.
Dr. Vance's journey began with a childhood fascination with the night sky, gazing through a small telescope from her backyard. This early curiosity led her to pursue degrees in physics and astronomy, culminating in a Ph.D. in astrophysics from the University of Washington. After years of research and teaching at the university level, she realized that many people were eager to learn about space but lacked access to formal education. That's when the idea for StellarEd was born – a platform that could democratize access to quality astronomy education.
